Colour is more than just a visual experience.
It is also a psychological one that can radically affect moods and emotions. It is a classic form of communication that can project your personality and set the tone in each room of your home.
Interior colour trends come from many different influences such as art, fashion, home furnishings and all other types of design.
With the recent release of the 2019 Pantone Colour of the Year - Living Coral (see below) we take a look at a few different ways you can use this striking shade in your home.

2019 Pantone Colour of the Year - Living Coral
Pantone tell us Living Coral should feel like it embraces us with all the warmth and nourishment needed to provide comfort in our continually shifting environment. It invites feelings of connection in a time when many of us are increasingly immersed in digital experiences that can leave us cold and isolated.
Having it around us will invoke a warm welcoming feeling, with its peachy orange and golden undertones helping us feel optimistic yet intimate in any environment.
3 ways you can incorporate Living Coral into your home

1. Adding a pop of colour with furniture
One of the easiest ways to incorporate this fun and bold shade into your home is with a large piece of statement furniture.
Against a neutral backdrop, a couch in a colourful coral tone will add an instant spark of interest while warming up the cool tones that dominate the space.
The benefit of going coral with a larger piece is that it takes just one piece to make a huge impact (rather than repeating the colour with multiple, smaller accessories)

2. Introducing it with different textiles
Textiles are a must for any home. They take a room from being functional to being comfortable, and are one of the key elements for making a house a home.
Try adding a punch of coral to your bed or couch with a fun pillow or throw blanket. In the room above, the coral accent pillow works well paired against a backdrop of cool grays and crisp whites.

3. Be bold
If you want to go big and create a room with wow factor, try painting your walls in coral.
Instead of creating a pop of interest in a neutral field, use natural tones to create moments of calm in a sea of colour. For a space that's fashion forward, try pairing coral with complimentary neutrals such as navy blue and gray.
